A few times a month, our favorite thrift shop will discount its furniture by 50%. It was on one of these special occasions that we came across this adorable children’s park bench. The size caught our attention and we fell in love with the animal detail on the back. The bench needed some repair- the wood was greying and begged for some luster. We unscrewed each wooden plank and sanded, revealing the surprisingly great condition of each piece. Using Rustoleum wood stain, we layered a new look onto each plank. With the plastic animal backing now separate from the bench, we coated it with a yellow Valspar spray paint.
Now, if only we could get our hands on a bit of Alice’s shrinking potion……
With all the buzz about Prince George lately, we are seeing the Union Jack showcased everywhere! We’ve had this small round table in the garage for a few weeks and couldn’t decide on a pattern for it—until now. After a light sanding, we requested some help from our expert painter (Lucy’s hubby) who did an amazing job! We left the “white” part of the flag as the natural wood color in order to allow the table’s original beauty to shine through…Check out the before & after pics!
We are thrilled to participate in our very first trade show in New Braunfels, Texas, next month– and this table will be one of our featured pieces. Cheerio, mates!
